What will your child be learning in Reception this week?

Where is our learning adventure taking us this week?

*Please note Stay and Play is cancelled on the 17th April due to our trip to Ness Gardens. Stay and Play on the 18th April 2.00-3.00 will still take place. 

We will begin the summer term by sharing the story 'Bog Baby'. We are looking forward to our trip to Ness Gardens on Tuesday 17th April. We will be leaving school at 9.30 and returning to school at 2.30. Please pick your child up at the usual time of 3.00. A packed lunch and drinks will be provided for your child. During the day we are looking forward to exploring the gardens, pond dipping and searching for Bog Babies. Please provide a waterproof coat and welly boots if needed. 

Once we are back in school we are looking forward to exploring activities linked to our trip and to the story. We will be making our own bog babies, creating our own representations of the plants and flowers we have seen and making Bog Baby cress heads. We will also be strengthening the muscles in our hands by tinkering, creating and describing 3D shapes and recognising digraphs in words.

 Next week we will be...

Starting a new book, 'Augustus and his Smile' by Catherine Rayner. We would love to see a zoo in the role play area, there are some animals trapped in ice that we think you could rescue and we will also be singing lots of jungle songs! 

If you want to tell us about tigers you've seen at the zoo we'd love to hear what you already know!
